Last week saw the launch of our Christmas Family Hamper Appeal, which kicked off with a food drive at Asda Stevenage for all those festive treats we know the families that attend the food bank would go without this Christmas time. The weather was bitter cold, but did not deter our volunteers, who handed out 2000 leaflets appealing for food. Asda customers responded with great generosity and filled eight and half shopping trolleys of food. This means with the kind donation from the Stevenage Scouts who are providing fresh fruit and veg and funds raise by the food bank to buy fresh meat, we are well on our way to creating our festive hampers for families in food poverty this Christmas. A big thank you to all of you that made a donation and to Anne and Nessa at Asda who made the day possible.
